12th day here in my new rental apartment. so far everything's great. no aircon and it's a little further to the mrt but i have my own toilet now cos im in the master bedroom and tbh it's like a little studio room. moving this time round was a little easier now though i kinda had more stuff but i engaged a mover and HE WAS DAMN AWESOME. did everything in like 2.5h when i would have taken 4h myself. details another day. anyway i wanted to talk about the silly things i did which in retrospect are so funny i needa record them down

i have a pegboard where i hang bags that i use daily and also tissue paper/other common daily essentials and in the previous room there was a nail in the wall from long ago so i just hung the pegboard on the nail without using any additional hooks or tape and it was quite sturdy. there's not much wall stuff here in this new room so i couldnt do the same. i tried putting against the wall, and letting it stand on the ground using the height adjusters for furniture but they didnt work and ultimately i realized that the side of the wardrobe was a perfect fit for the pegboard. so i hung the board up there and i had these 3m command velcro tapes for securing heavy stuff which i wanted to use to make the board stick firmly to the wardrobe. AND THE STUPIDEST THING HAPPENED. i took out the strips i bought from taobao (cos cheap) and i tore off 2 to use. peeled off the lining and tried to put them together but they wouldnt stick?? tried n times and threw the first set into the bin and proceeded to take another pair. by this time i was pretty convinced the strips were sent wrongly so i decided to go to youtube to confirm.

AND THEN I SAW THERE WERE 2 DIFFERENT TEXTURES IN THE VIDEO and i quickly went back to look at the pack and i realized they were arranged in hook then loops alternately in groups of 4. (it was in the middle of the night in my defence) i had mistakenly tore off 2 hook sides and tried to piece them together. (fun fact from google: velcro strips are actually called hook and loop fasteners. velcro is the company name) 🤯 mystery solved. i could finally sleep well at 2am. damn funny in hindsight

the second silly thing happened this morning. i have a habit of hanging the house keys on a hook whenever i return. in the previous room i had this cute magnetic cloud that i used to hold my keys (i cant find it yet somehow) and this morning when i was up and ready to go to work, I REALIZED THE KEYS WERE NOT ON THE HOOK?? i panicked as i was running late and i quickly went to recall what i did last night, what i was wearing, what items i touched. i also texted to skip work and was almost on the brink of breakdown when i sat down on the bed to calm myself down. AND I SAW IT. that shiny thing was in my sock laundry bag which hangs by the side of my cupboard. i must have placed the keys on the cupboard and accidentally swept it into the bag. missed earning some $$ today but i decided to reward myself with mcdonalds LOL and was also glad to have a peaceful sat morning just eating breakfast and taking a walk in the neighbourbood. just realized that there's a prime supermarket at the macs place! nice. havent cooked here yet but i guess the first meal will be tonight. enough excitement for today, gonna take a nap to rest now.

p.s. need another post about the previous house. wasnt really a nightmare but too drama
